In Greek mythology, Nyx (/ n ɪ k s / NIX; Ancient Greek: Νύξ Nýx, , "Night") is the goddess and personification of the night. In Hesiod's Theogony, she is the offspring of Chaos, and the mother of Aether and Hemera (Day) by Erebus (Darkness).
